Need help with a tuning kit, how do you tune your scooter, which kit should I choose, and all general tuning and modifcations questions are for in here.

With referance to the original question of Franspeed Race or Supertourer, as Adam stated it depends on what your looking at from your engine and how you want it to ride. From a basic back to back of the two, the Race will give more BHP and rev higher, the overall tourqe of the engine will be down and itll pick up from around 6K, the Supertourer will give less peak BHP but come on pipe earlier, around the 5200-5500 mark, the engine tourqe will be greater with a flatter power curve, that will both have more BHP as it comes on in the rev range and hang on to the BHP longer when the Race will drop off quickly, The race is great if your sprinting or blasting about on a short ride, the Supertourer is is what it says, the much better choice for touring rallies and extended days riding :D

That was what I thought when choosing the pipe to go with my GT186 kit, but I had a conversation with Richard Taylor who told me that he has a Supertourer and was disappointed with it and that the Race was an all round better pipe, so I went for that and haven't been disappointed.

If it does what you want then thats the most important part and the right decision on your behalf, Ive done a lot of back to back on various kits with these two pipes and Im suprised Richard found the Supertourer dissapointing, pherhaps it didnt suit the tune on the cylinder, but we have always found the Supertourer the better rally touring pipe.

I've misquoted him a little here, he said that he had the tourer and didn't think it was as good as the race, and like you say maybe it just didn't suit his whole set up. And like everything these days, especially pipes, you ask 2 different people and you get 2 different opinions. Richard recommended the race for my set up and although I need to alter the gearing slightly I'm happy with the results
