Thanks Marty, no need to apologise mate. Family first.

Hope you're all well.

Friggin kitchen's a disaster zone with the Lammy in and all that goes with it. Bit if an embarrassment to be honest. Hope I have no visitors for a month or so!

Apologies if I'm hijacking this thread, but I rode my old girl into work today and as I pulled up, the revs died on me and she just stopped. I've got a good spark but she just will not start. I've tried bumping her and putting petrol down the barrel but she ain't having it
Could this be a twisted crank?? Can I test this or does it need to go to a shop?
I had altered my jetting, but have been told this should not affect the bike starting (??)

Did you weaken the mixture? if so I would suspect some sort of piston damage and stuck rings, the compression would be down and probably the plug won't be getting wet (apart from when you tipped petrol in directly).

Gulp!! Think I was running rich as I'd upjetted. Had to leave her at work. Last resort, eezi start tomorrow then it's the recovery van. This months Scootering shows how to check for a twisted crank, so I'll check that too
Methinks this ain't gonna be a cheap fix...

Can't believe the crank would twist unless you'd been honing about doing wheelies or clumsily using the gears for braking :? Even then, if it was far enough out to stop the engine running, the flywheel would probably be rubbing on the mag housing. What doe the compression feel like? is the plug getting wet? any squeeking noises coming from the head area when you kick it?

The plug isn't getting wet, no. And I put some petrol down the barrel but it still wouldn't start. About a year a go, I was having starting problems and a mechanic said my crank may be twisted and he said he adjusted the timing to compensate. It's been fine since and I've done over 1000 miles. Just seems weird that it's happened after I have jetted my carb, yet I've been told this shouldn't affect starting. There's petrol in the bowl and it started first kick this morning. I'm at a big of a loss tbh

No mate. Marooned at work, so had to get Rescue out. Bloke couldn't solve it, so he took it to the shop for me. Fingers crossed for a cheapish resolution.
I'll post on here when it's solved, to help anyone else. Thanks for all the suggestions.
