Hi, I'm now at the same crossroads....can I ask what kit you opted for?

I'm really tempted to go with the casatronic set up. I like the auto advance and retard facility. Will let you know more when it happens. Just got all my body bits back from the powder coaters. All bubble wrapped, it feels like Christmas has come early, the parts are in good condition and look like new. Can't wait to get started and watch it come back to life after 43 years of being stored in bits and pieces.

Captain P,

I think we spoke (PM) a while back about doing a Casatronic DC set-up.

I sent mine off to Anthony Tambs (ILC Member) who re-wired it to DC, re-made the joints etc and supplied a Wassel type reg (around a tenner). Fitted to a Spanish Lynx with indicators and a 9v wet battery. Works a treat.

Ant mentioned the advance/retard was in the CDI ?

I also fitted a voltage indicator which shows 11.8v at tick-over and 13.8v at higher revs.

Very happy with it, a bit costly to do but I feel it will be worth it in/on the long run.

Hi Capn, not sure if you (pm) me before. Anyway, why did you need to have the casatronic modified? I thought the kit was DC straight out of the box. Also, can you comment on the weight of flywheel, I note they have standard and lightened. Many thanks.

Egee,

The standard kit is AC with a DC trickle charge for a battery, will only power a satnav/phone charger. I had it re-wired so it was full DC output with battery. The Serveta already ran DC so no messing about with wiring loom etc.

Flywheel is mid weight.

Mr Tambs has just posted a demo of his own stator kit on Face Book with external pickup due to go on sale very soon.
