Anyone else had this and is there a remedy to keep the conventional 'push up' green chain guide you get as for me the pulling down of the chain makes no sense personally ??

The 'Lammy bible' says i need an 82 chain with a 19 / 46 sprocket set up.
Dilemma is i have just fitted an AF 46 rear cassette clutch with the 19 tooth sprocket but the 82 chain is proper baggy. I have tried other 82 link and 80 link chains in the garage but the 80 is too tight and the other 82's just as baggy. I think I might need an 81 link, has anyone experience of that set up ?
I could use a tensioner where the chain is pulled down but would prefer the conventional 'push up' green chain guide...
