Stainless definitely no good because of resonance differences as mentioned above.
Stainless welds are not very vibration resistant too.
Titanium might be a good choice? Bang goes the pension.

Difficult to repair if pipe splits....as ive found out first hand! Plus its mega expensive, as in as much if not more than a new exhaust!
