Good luck this weekend Daz at the 5th round of the BSSO scooter racing championship Croft circuit Nr Darlington .
Be good to see some support for his first home race of the season.
Hope it stays dry for ya's and the crank press etc isn't needed.

Good luck pal

Thanks for all your good lucks. I managed to finish 2 races out of the weekend. The other 2 I'm afraid I had a couple of offs ! It's all a learning curve  . A few bruises but hey oh that's racing !

I'll upload a few pics of the scoot soon as I've not scrapped it out of the van yet

In my first season I fell off at every meeting and I think I managed three offs in one weekend.
A very wise man once told me "you can't ride fast until you have crashed".
You've got the touch and now you've been down you're sorted. You've also got a load of people who want you to do well so chin up and its onwards and upwards old boy. Tally ho!

Croft has resulted with my group 4 being a little worse for where ! I had an off in the 2nd race on the last corner trying to go under somebody who went wide. To much front brake resulted in me taking a slamm to the floor and the scoot. Repaired On Saturday night ready for Sunday. This was to be a wet race which I got a 6th in group 4.
Last race of the day I was told finish the race and I could loose my orange bib. Warm up lap 1st then the race was away. I come through a few before the 1st corner which I surprised myself at. From the back to the middle banking over on the 2nd righthander I seen a line I could take into the 1st left. 2 scoots were tight on lefthander I decided to go round as I was on the power they weren't. As I come round a group 6 bike had a bit of a wobble and straightened up out of his lean before the corner finished sending him wide. My front wheel was about in line with his rear as he went wide I went wider straight onto the grass while accelerating hard in 3rd gear probably about 70mph. This was the result.

I suspect a bent frame. Steering is tight. I'm going to strip it and take it to Shaun burns for a check. A bit of paintwork and a couple of new panels !

New rear runners , new headset top and bottom straighten legsheilds and frame I don't know if it's just me but it dosen't look so bad in the photos as it does in the real , bit repaint and loosen myself up as I'm aching from head to toe !

Hi Pete
Your not wrong about the learning being steep. I suppose I'm not the 1st to think while spectating at bsso events. Hell I can do that! probably quicker than the boys on the track to ! How wrong was I !!!!!!

For starters my ts230 is no where near as quick as I thought it was. Thus nobody is going as quick on the road as they think they are ( or very few are ). I can ride I used to think ! I'll go out and be straight into the middle of the pack then after a couple of meetings be pushing to the front ! WRONG !

I have to say it's a very steep learning curve Pete but one I'm enjoying , improvements on the scoot at every meeting learning to ride that bit better everytime. Every race going to get your results to see what was your quickest lap.

I'd also like to say what a welcoming bunch the racing boys are ! Anything is not to much trouble in the paddock loads of advice and parts aren't an issue either. If they've got it you haven't it's yours. What an experience it's being. Yes I'm sore , yes my scoot needs some work but hell what an experience ! It really is a roller coaster ride. :D

Daz no mate I haven't explained to dene yet about his custom headset top ! Oops
