Kheper V3 beta testing

Postby Eden » Wed Apr 20, 2016 10:24 pm

Got lucky enough to be one of the 10 beta testers for the new Kheper V3.
Found it in the post box after work tonight and got to work fitting it :)

It has 14 curves, 3 of which are fully programmable and another one which applies no retard so the kheper can be used like a standard cdi.
The spark it gives off is 60% higher voltage than a standard cdi.
Programming the custom curves is very easy using the online application which saves the three curves to a file that you then upload to the kheper via USB.

I have been using the older version 2 Kheper for over two years on two of my own lambrettas but this new version is much more versatile.

The kheper had a good test this weekend while doing the South Downs rally. Over 400 miles covered.
Friday night was very very wet all the way there, no issues for the Kheper.

These graphs are from my Garmin Satnav.

Speed/Distance graph of the ride there on Friday.

Speed/Distance graph doing the first half of the ride out to the café on Saturday, ( nice cake )

All good so far :)

Thanks for sharing Eden. It was good to hear you talk about this system on Saturday, and see the app.

I was chatting with you, and later with Andy G, about the idea that we would one day have ignition systems linked to our phone by Bluetooth. Bonkers, when you recall days when you were fishing around at autojumbles to find a motorcycle piston to fit into a steel barrel and thinking how clever we were; pushing the technological boundaries.

Paul Simon said, "these are the days of miracles and wonder" "these are the days of lasers in the jungle".

Eden's already got his laser in the jungle.

I fancy one of these as my Agusto has just failed

Does this need the android app to work, or will it work with any smartphone that has blue tooth?...will it work with iPhone?

Cheers

you don't need the app for it to work, the app just means you can change settings etc with out the kheper plugged into a computer
